So many people have experienced painful emergency dental situations and wondered how to deal with it. When you come in to our dental office we will do a full exam at our dentist office here in Van Nuys and deal with your lost crown. I have been practicing for over 33 years and have seen all types of lost fillings and crowns. We will help you figure out how to get better!  Some causes of dental emergencies

• toothaches
• chipped or broken teeth (save any pieces)!
• Knocked out tooth (call/come see Dr. Fields ASAP)
• Lost filling of crown
• Food caught between the teeth
• Broken braces
• Abscess (infections)

 Things to do to ease the pain:

• If you’ve lost any part of your tooth, save it if you can!
• If your tooth is knocked out—come to Dr. Fields in Van Nuys right away!
• If you have braces or brackets out of place, put something soft like a cotton ball in between, and then come to my office.
• If something is stuck between your teeth, try using floss to remove it. If you can’t you should definitely come in to the office.
• If you lost a filling, put a piece of sugarless gum in place and get to Dr. Fields office!
• Be gentle with your teeth; if it hurts, call Dr. Fields!

 What will happen at my appointment?We will do a full examination of your teeth to determine what is causing your problem. We can also take a set of ex-rays if necessary.
